At the beginning of October 2020, I started a 30-Day-I-Am-Enough campaign on Instagram. As a coach, I am constantly helping clients battle the not-enoughs. It's the, I'm not good enough, attractive enough, strong enough, smart enough, put together enough, and so on. At the core of the not-enoughs is the belief that your worthiness comes from something outside of yourself.
At the core of the not-enoughs is the belief that your worthiness comes from something outside of yourself.
It's the misconception that your value as a human being and your worthiness to receive love comes from what you do, how much you do, and ultimately the unrealistic expectations placed on you by others or even yourself.
However, your enoughness is not in the hands of another. It's not in the hands of your productivity or lack thereof, in your appearance, or in your accomplishments. Thank goodness for that! You are enough, just because you are. In the words of Popeye, I yam, what I yam. You are human and that's enough. You are unique. There has never been and will never be another one like you! That's something to celebrate.
You are human and that's enough!
Fortunately, you can always get smarter, thinner, stronger, and more productive, but your worthiness never changes. It's not up for grabs, unless you become a robot (sounds pretty cool). But in the meantime, you are not a machine. You are a wonder; a thing to marvel at.
